Darkwave Music
Out of all of the genres of music in the world, Darkwave is one that I has stuck with me my entire life. I love all of the scene offshoots as well, such as industrial, gothic, synthpop, futurepop, etc., but Darkwave has always stood in a class of its own. I love the style of vocals, the instrumentation, the way it *feels* if that makes any sense. I grew up in the 80s, so anything with that era's vibe with always have a nostalgic value to it my mind.
Some of my favorite bands in the world include In Strict Confidence, The Cruxshadows, The Synthetic Dream Foundation, Clan of Xymox, Emilie Autumn, Depeche Mode, Seabound, and more. I love it pretty. I love it dark. I love anything that combines electronic music with more acoustic sounds like classical music or acoustic guitar. I've never understood why bands like E.S. Posthumus don't have a bigger following and presence in the goth industrial movement. A lot of the music I have come to love I have discovered from my hours of listening to Shadows EBM Radio.
I'm sure I will continue to listen to darkwave music for years to come, but it has already played such a heavy part of my younger years and adulthood.
